The concept was introduced in Romania as a distinct component of the project „I, an Oltenian based peasant, need an education”,a project funded by SEE 2009-2014 grants, within the NGO Fund in Romania.
„Apen Barnehage” (Open Kindergarten) was adapted to the Romanian socio-economic context and tested/implemented with the support of our Norwegian partners from Stiftelsen Kirkens Bymisjon Bergen.
The main objective of this type of activity is to create a proper attachment between child-parent, child-educator, parent-educator.
The activities place great emphasis on each child’s needs to be seen, heard and appreciated, through active engagement and, simultaneously, on creating a climate of dialogue between child and parent.
The program entails weekly organization and conduct of joint activity for children-parents-educators in 6 kindergartens in Gloiesti, Farcas and Simnicu de Sus communes.
190 preschoolers have been supported so far under the program Open Kindergarten.
Furthermore, the organization is financially supporting the kindergartens in the communes of Goiesti, Farcas, and Simnicu de Sus, so that currently over 200 preschoolers have benefited from relevant educational materials.
