Within the project “I, an Oltenia-Based Peasant, Need an Education!” work visits were organized between the main partners Adina Stiftelsen Foundation from Romania and Stiftelsen Kirkens Bymisjon from Bergen, Norway.
The possibility of implementing „Apen Barnehage” (Open Kindergarten) concept in Romanian rural areas represented the main focus of the partner’s visits.
Following the Norwegian visit from August, the Romanian delegation’s visit in Norway took place during 2nd to 7th of November 2014. While participating at the activities organized by Stiftelsen Kirkens Bymisjon Bergen, the 5 Romanian experts concentrated on observing how „Apen Barnehage” (Open Kindergarten) concept works.
The Romanian delegation met and interacted with project’s beneficiary children and parents and also with specialized educators who arrange programme’s activities. During activities, the Romanian experts analysed the way in which these are organized and conducted by educators, as well as the behaviour of parents and children. The specialized Norwegian educators gladly shared their experience and provided detailed information regarding the functionally of the concept. Following the discussion with parents and children, the Romanian delegation was able to understand how beneficial this programme is to them.
The visit was a success because the Romanian experts gained important knowledge regarding how to organize and implement „Apen Barnehage” (Open Kindergarten) concept.
The final rapport of the visit contains general impressions, recommendations, and conclusions regarding the concept and how to adapt this in the Romanian context.
