Project funded by SEE 2009-2014 Grants, within Romania NGO Fund
The value of the non-refundable financing: 215.015,58 Euro
As part of the project „I, an Oltenia-Based Peasant, Need an Education!”, the first work visit of the Norwegian experts in Romania took place during 26th – 31st of August 2014. With this visit, the Norwegian delegation wanted to collect as many information as possible regarding the educational, emotional, social and financial needs of preschool children from rural areas of Romanian in order to provide targeted services. Analyzing the socio-economic environment from which children came was another visit’s objective.
The overall aim of the visit, considering the objectives, was to draw up recommendations regarding the possibility of implementing or adapting the „Apen Barnehage” (Open kindergarten) concept.
During 5 working days, the schedule of the visiting team concentrated at knowing the beneficiaries’ children of the project, their families, and their environment. The after-school activities that took place at the local school allowed the 3 Norwegian experts to communicate and interact with children. Also, they had the possibility to better understand the conditions in which the children live and to meet their families while visiting them at home. The meetings had a major impact on the Norwegian experts who could get a clearer image regarding the social and financial situation of rural families of Romania, and of the Romanian educational system.
This beautiful experience had the desired outcome, finalizing with a rapport containing impressions, general observations, recommendations and conclusions regarding the adaptation and implementation of „Apen Barnehage” (Open kindergarten) concept.
