Artistic activities in school and outside school are beneficial to a child’s personal development, regarding practical abilities, communication as well as self-confidence. Based on this believe, we organize artistic activities for children who participate at Adina Stiftelsen Foundation’s programs.

It is important to get engaged alongside children in these activities in order to develop their social abilities, communication abilities and to seal their confidence and self-esteem.

It is not enough to get children involved in artistic activities; it is equally important to offer them the possibility to demonstrate what they have learned. Artistic competitions and festivals are a good way for children’s talent and effort to be recognized and appreciated.

During activities organized through project “I, an Oltenia-Based Peasant, Need an Education!” we set out to give children the opportunity to compete in several festivals and competitions.

Beneficiary children had the chance to participate at two events organized by Dolj County School Inspectorate.

They were also glad to receive the support of some friendly volunteers who regularly dedicate their time to organize and carry out artistic and sport activities for the schools where we operate.

On 28th March 2015, „Sălcioara” Traditional Dancing Group from Goiești Elementary School participated at „Folclor pe Amaradia” Traditional County Contest in Craiova, were they got Ist    place.

On 4th April 2015, the modern dance groups from Goiești and Țandăra Schools participated at School Sports Olympics – Dance County Contest, were they got: Ist place – Modern dance Group, I-IV grade, Țandăra School; IInd place – salsa dance, V-VIII grade, Goiești school and IIIrd place – Modern dance Group, V-VIII grade, Goiești School

For most children, this was the first time they got on a stage and performed in front of other people beside their parents and teachers in school’s plays. They lived every detail with maximum intensity, and they couldn’t believe that they were about to dance on a real stage „Are we really going to get up on that big stage?”

The joy was boundless when they handed the awards and children got called on stage to pick up their prizes.

The appreciation they received was a boost to children’s confidence and it is essential for them to fell that they have succeeded through our encouragement and positive reactions from other participants and the jury.
